Relay Resources is proud to announce that our janitorial team (including workers from floor maintenance and our workforce training program) recently passed the Worldwide Cleaning Industry Association (ISSA) audit with honors. This took place the week of May 28, when a representative from ISSA met with Jonathan Padilla, Relay’s director of janitorial operations—who has worked with Relay since 2015—to visit several Relay sites.
Subsequently the team passed the ISSA audit and received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building Advanced with Honors certification, which demonstrates best practices in cleaning. This honor exemplifies the high professional level of services we’ve delivered to our customers.
We congratulate and celebrate our teams for these accomplishments.
A Relay Resources Janitorial Team on Location in Portland State University.
ISSA is the leading trade association for the cleaning industry, with over 10,500 members, and has established standards for cleaning, quality, and efficiency that are used around the world. Facilities that conform to these standards are known as the absolute best; service companies that pass the audit are recognized for having the highest quality, a strong service reputation, and a proactive cleaning response.
Relay scored 100% on the audit, which representatives from ISSA said is very difficult to accomplish, especially at a global facility like the Portland International Airport (PDX).
Passing the audit is a culmination of several years of hard work by Relay’s janitorial/building solutions and workforce training teams to meet ISSA standards. ISSA was impressed with the high satisfaction levels of our customers, and they had very few comments for improvements, which were minor rather than substantial. The honor acknowledges the cleanliness of the buildings and condition of the floors at our customer locations, including PDX and Clean Water Services, along with several downtown locations including the Edith Green-Wendell Wyatt Federal Building and other City of Portland facilities.
The other big recent honor for our team was earning the Global Biorisk Advisory Council’s CIMS Green Building Advanced with Honors certification, which is given to organizations for following proper cleaning and disinfection protocols to prevent and mitigate infections and biohazards in a facility. CIMS GB with Honors is the first consensus-based management standard that outlines the primary characteristics of a successful, quality cleaning organization.
The Honors certification is rated on:
Relay Resources’ strong performance in earning these high honors demonstrates that the organization is qualified to provide the highest quality of janitorial services to clinics, health care sites, and similar facilities with cleaning needs that have top standards for disinfecting and biohazard mitigation.
Now that Relay has passed the ISSA audit, our contacts at ISSA have indicated that Relay may find additional opportunities working in long-term care and other health care facilities with our newly attained certification levels.
